Eric Thompson - Partner

Eric Thompson is one of our founding partners who along with Teddy Hanna established the practice in 1985. Eric graduated with a degree in Economics from Queens University in Belfast ( "similar to watching paint dry", his words not ours ) before embarking upon a career in accountancy. He trained with Price Waterhouse and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1976.  Following qualification he specialised in Receivership and Liquidation work, becoming manager of this division in Coopers and Lybrand and subsequently becoming one of the first members of the management consultancy team of the same practice.It was here that he specialised in the preparation of financial forecasts and business plans at a time when computer modelling was "steam driven". Leaving the  profession, he worked in Industry where he held the position of Finance Director in two large UK Companies based in Northern Ireland. This experience was invaluable as it taught him to view the world from the other side of the desk . All of this added to very rounded experience, enough to encourage him to try to establish his own practice which he doesn't regret one bit.
